1970s Nivada ChronoKing

1970s Nivada ChronoKing

Why This Watch Matters

You gotta love the mirrored registers on this retro chronograph, which also offers a rare date window at 12 o’clock. This is one killer chrono.

The Full Story

This Nivada claims to be the king of chronographs for the air and sea, and it does not disappoint. With a very attractive dial layout including two mirror sub-registers and a legible date window at 12 o’clock, this is a great looking watch. The 38 mm case wears well on the wrist and is nicely complemented by the “Submariner-type” bezel (although the part was likely replaced). This is a very substantial watch that deserves more recognition.

What we Love and What You Should Know

This ChronoKing has a great case with sharp lugs, and the same can be said about the case back with clear engraving. Both seem to indicate no signs of previous polishing. The dial does not have any imperfections and comes with the correct handset. The hands show signs of age with part of the lume missing from the minute hand. The bezel insert, although in great condition, appears to have been replaced.
